Block Printing Immersion Course (Copy)

Taught by Christine Willis
Join for Week 2 or Week 3 - only $60/class!

“Lino-cut” is a printmaking technique achieved by cutting a design into linoleum and printing it, using ink, onto paper or fabric.

Details: In this 3 week block printing class, you will learn how to use a linocut tool to create a  one-of-a-kind linocut/block print. You will then use this block to print on paper and fabric. Included the price of the class is 1 linoleum block, ink, tools, a set of 6 greeting cards + a tea towel. You have the opportunity to purchase more blocks, fabric or note cards directly from the teacher.

Week 1 (10/1): Sketch your design, transfer + carve your block.

Week 2 (10/8): Use your block(s) to make a set of greeting cards

Week 3 (10/15): Use your block(s) on fabric to create a 1 of a kind tote bag, tea towel or bandana.

Can't join for all three sessions? That's ok! You can still drop in for the price of one class ($60). Rather than creating your own lino-cut, you can choose from the instructor's collection of wooden block prints and create your own design. This applies to 10/8 and 10/15.

Knowledge required: This class is beginner-friendly. Age 14+ with an adult

What you'll get: You’ll take home a custom-designed linocut printing block that you can use again and again, a set of greeting cards + a tote bag, tea towel or bandana.
