In this class, we'll use watercolors to explore color theory and color mixing. Did you know most art class teach color theory wrong? We'll start with the traditional color theory model, and explore its uses and limits through making color wheels. Then, we'll learn about the science of color to get the perfect color mix every time. Finally, we'll end by testing out our new skill by color matching to references. This class is beginner friendly! No art or science background is needed.

What you'll learn:
        • The difference between hue, tone, and value
        • Traditional color theory
        • The science behind how we see and mix color
        • How to mix just about any color from just a few primary colors

What's included:
        • Watercolor paint, paper, paintbrushes, and other supplies
        • Color wheels and color palette references

What to bring:
        • Yourself and a willingness to learn!

What you'll take home:

        • New knowledge and confidence in color theory (plus any notes you take)

Please note that we will not be producing finished paintings in this class
