Mural Camp!

Have you ever wondered how artists get there murals on a large scale wall? Now is your chance to learn Mural 101 and practice your spray painting skills! The Mural Camp workshop is 2 days long and 3 hours each day. We will cover the basics of spray painting, wall spotting, and illustration scaling, as well as the history street art and graffiti.

DAY 1: Students learn from a presentation, watch an artist-produced documentary, and work on some letters/characters for the next day's spray painting class.
DAY 2: We will tour the facility, look at the walls, and discuss how artists approach the mural painting process. We will dive into a spray painting class and review methods of squiggle grid, tape grid, the polytab, etc. before hands-on spray painting practice!

Ramiro Davaro-Comas is an Argentine/American artist with a background in public art and artist residency management. His passions for painting, storytelling, and community work have pushed him to travel throughout his career, collaborating with artists around the world. He is also the creator and served as a director of Dripped on the Road, a traveling artist residency program from 2016 to 2022. He is currently co-directing Super Stories, an organization he launched with artist Grace Lang that focuses on art centered story telling projects in community spaces. Their motto is - If you know something, teach it!

Super-Stories is a registered 501(c) 3 non-profit that focuses on community storytelling through public art, hands-on making experiences, and partnerships with local artists and educators.
